The Darkness of My Stories
In film and video, there are gradual transitions into or out of a black screen. This technique can indicate the beginning or end of a scene, create a dramatic effect, or evoke a cinematic experience. It is called: “Fade to Black”. Funny how it uses the “dark” instead of the “light”.
This transition of scenes allows the audience to use their imagination on what comes next. But for my stories, I do not.
I want to provide the full experience of what my characters indulge in or must overcome. I like exploring non-human romantic complex relationships with dark beginnings involving power imbalance and morally gray areas. Though my writing doesn’t focus on the triggers below (except for what is starred (*) below), I feel for those of a delicate nature that I provide this content warning list of what you may expect in any of my novels that you choose to read.
